Job summary

We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, innovating and creative part-time Assistant Speech and Language Therapist who can contribute a range of skills and experiences to our adult SLT services working within the community and hospital settings across central and west Northumberland.

Based between Hexham and Morpeth, the post holder will be part of a highly motivated team of therapists working to deliver individual and group therapy to patients with speech, language and / or swallowing difficulties.

Good organisation and time management skills are essential along with excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to contribute to clinical teams to ensure delivery of effective, client-centred care plans to the highest standards.

The successful candidate will be well supported in our friendly team offering regular team meetings and a commitment to continued development.

Main duties of the job

The post will involve assisting the Speech and Language Therapists in supporting patients communication or swallowing by implementing individual and group therapy plans and supporting clinical administrative systems.

The post holder will work independently with their own caseload of clients under supervision of a Speech and Language Therapist.

The post holder will be working with patients in hospital settings, in patients own homes and in care homes, and will be liaising with other professionals within and outside of the Trust.

Full training, support and supervision will be provided and the successful candidate will be able to access peer support from our friendly and established SLT Assistants.
