Job summary
Ward 4 is a 30 bedded inpatient ward, providing medical care and rehabilitation to older patients and those who have had a stroke.
Ward 4 require an additional Ward Coordinator to work as anintegral part of the ward team. You will be responsible for the co-ordination of all patient facilities services in the ward area ensuring a organised, clean, safe and comfortable environment.
The main elements of the role are ensuring the delivery of administrative and the organisation of other specified tasks to meet individual patient needs as determined by the ward manager.
The post holder will be required to monitor quality standards and report deficiencies and take appropriate action.

Main duties of the job
-ensure services are organised to enable the delivery of safe and high quality patient care
-keep all patient/team and ward records up to date
-act as the first point of contact to all visitors to the ward, including patients, relatives/carers and MDT members
-respond to phone calls from relatives/carers and professionals
-monitor, order and put away all ward stocks/equipment
-act as a fire warden
-contribute to ward audit and service improvements
-attend meetings , take minutes and distribute these to the wider team
-ensure safe and appropriate referrals as part of the patient discharge pathway
-contribute to clinical governance, infections control and ward assurance standards
