Job summary

The role involves proactive monitoring and tracking of the cancer patients ensuring that their journey is processed in a timely and efficient manner, in line with Cancer Waiting Time Targets.

It is imperative that the post holder has a full understanding of the Cancer Waiting Times Targets and the impact these have on both patient and Trust.

Applicants should have a good IT skills and an understanding of medical terminology which is essential. The ability to work with concentration and accuracy and to liaise with staff at all levels is also required.

The post holder will provide full and comprehensive administrative support to tumour specific multidisciplinary teams (MDT's) within the Trust.

Main duties of the job

It is imperative that the post holder has a full understanding of the Cancer Waiting Times Targets and the impact these have on both patient and Trust.

It is very important that the post holder has excellent communication and organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks in order of importance. It also essential to be able to use your own initiative to resolve problems and also work as part of a team in order to meet personal and business objectives.

The Multi-Disciplinary Team plays a key part in delivering a first class service to patients referred into the Trust on a suspected cancer pathway. Team working is key in meeting this objective.
