Job summary
The Medicine and Emergency Care Business Unit in Northumbria Healthcare NHS Trust delivers a wide range of health services to meet the needs of local people. As part of service developments an opportunity has arisen for a Junior Operational Services Manager within Medicine. Medicine delivers care and support for a wide demographic and range of services, both emergency and elective.
The successful application will have operational responsibility for a range of services and teams, delivering excellence, innovation and improvement across the services they support, with detailed knowledge of emergency care standards and elective care performance.

Main duties of the job
o To provide leadership support in the development of clinical and support services.o To actively support the general manager in and contribute to the development of Directorate strategy and objective setting.o To support the achievement of objectives within both the trust and Directorate.o To support the General Manager in the delivery of services so as to meet the performance targets for the trust.o To participate in the Managers on call system on a frequent basis.o To effectively manage the pay and non-pay resource.o To actively contribute to the achievements of the Directorate's business plan.o To plan for future growth, changes in working practices and project manage changes to successful implementation.
