Job summary
Ward 3 consists of a 12 bed elective Orthopaedic area, 2 minor procedure rooms for plastic and orthopaedic day case patients and 2 five trolley bays for spinal injection day case procedures. We are currently looking to recruit into various hours either full or part time to join our housekeeping team.

Main duties of the job
- General housekeeping duties for the ward and other areas as designated by the Ward Manager, Nurse in charge or Modern Matron.
- The main elements of the role are ensuring the delivery of cleaning, catering minor maintenance, administrative and other specified tasks to meet individual patient needs as determined by the ward manager.
- The post holder will be required to monitor quality standards and report deficiencies and take appropriate action.
Essential for role
- Induction training period
- Knowledge of cleaning products
- Able to demonstrate good communication with patients, staff and ward visitors.
- Awareness of good hygiene standards
- Mandatory training as defined by the Trust policies
- Ability to work without direct supervision
- To be flexible and respond to changing service needs
- High level of personal motivation
- Understanding the need for confidentiality when dealing with patients and their families
Desirable
- NVQ level 1 or 2
- Previous experience of similar housekeeping work
