We currently have a vacancy for a Specialist Safeguarding Practitioner to join our busy Safeguarding team. We are looking for someone who is keen to contribute to the delivery of a proactive, responsive, safeguarding service, working in partnership with staff and keystakeholders, to deliver high quality advice, guidance, support and training whilst supporting the Trust's commitment to safeguarding babies, children, young people, and adults at risk

Main duties of the job
To contribute to the delivery of a proactive, responsive, safeguarding service as part of theNorthumbria Trust wide safeguarding team.
To provide advice, support, clinical supervision and training for clinical and non-clinical staff.
To be responsible for the organising and co-ordination of key pieces of work such as information sharing with internal wards, departments and within wider partnership processes such as MASH (Multi Agency Safeguarding Hub).
To support trust staff and partner agencies to understand safeguarding form a health perspective.
To exercise accountability as set out in the relevant Code of Professional Conduct.
To be responsible for responding to contacts into the team for advice and support and seeking senior advice and support as needed to maintain high service standards.
To role model compassionate and inclusive leadership in order to shape the creation of a collective leadership culture within the trust. This means demonstrating a consistent leadership style which (a) engages, enables and empowers others (b) uses coaching to promote ownership of learning and quality improvement and (c) facilitates team working and collaboration within teams / departments and across organisational boundaries.
