Job summary

This exciting Senior Admin Lead position has become vacant at Lintonville Medical practice. We are looking for someone who has a passion for Primary Care and Leadership and willing to work in a busy practice and be part of the bigger Northumbria Primary Care group.

The successful candidate will support the Practice Manager with operational management to ensure a high quality service for patients. The candidate will work with the NPC Neighbourhood at a new and exciting time of transformation and working more closely together.

Main duties of the job

To provide and be responsible for the day to day management of the reception andadministrative staff.

To provide comprehensive admin service to GP's and other health careprofessionals in their team.

To allocate work and supervise other admin staff

To actively participate in the improvement of procedures and developments inprimary care involving administrative and reception support

To actively engage in patient experience initiatives which involves appropriatecommunication between staff in all NPC sites

To role model compassionate and inclusive leadership in order to shape the creation of a collective leadership culture within the trust. This means demonstrating a consistent leadership style which (a) engages, enables and empowers others (b) uses coaching to promote ownership of learning and quality improvement and (c)facilitates team working and collaboration within teams / departments and across organisational boundaries.

About us

Northumbria Primary Care Ltd (NPC) is a pioneering partnership with local GPs and now manages several GP practices with around 120,000 registered patients in Northumberland and North Tyneside.

Whilst appointees will have a base practice within NPC,they may be asked to work at other practices across our group. We do however limit this as much as possible as we appreciate continuity is vital to effective primary care.

  • GCSE English Language & Mathematics grade C/equivalent qualification or demonstrable level of functional Maths and English skills.
  • Significant experience of administration in primary care environment
  • Vocational Level 3 in relevant subject or equivalent qualification and/or experience
  • RSA 3/OCR (or equivalent) or equivalent or relevant typing/word processing experience

  • Proven ability to drive through change and introduce new ways of working with experience of change management
  • Knowledge of a range of work procedures and practices acquired through either experience or formal training

Desirable

  • Knowledge of or experience in coaching and mentoring practices and tools
