Job summary
We are looking to recruit a Technical Estates Officer to our team at our Hexham General Hospital
An Opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated Technical Estates Officer to work at theHexham General Hospital. The successful candidate will work alongside the current multi skilled team to maintain the Hexham General Hospital, and Haltwhistle Memorial Hospital. The post is 37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday and will also take part in the emergency on call rota.

Main duties of the job
- The successful post holder will be responsible for the day-to-day operation and management of all Building/Engineering, life and business-critical services, plant and equipment within all properties within their remit. They will be required to participate in the Estates on-call rota and undertake essential out of hours on-call duties, as directed. The applicant will already have significant M&E Building Services experience, be able to handle conflicting priorities and have the ability to work under pressure. They will be computer literate, have good technical knowledge and ability, with good verbal and written communication skills. They will also possess good interpersonal skills, allowing them to effectively communicate with both technical and non-technical personnel, within and beyond the organisation.
- Direct line management of a multi-disciplined workforce within respective sites to prioritise workloads Undertake management, design and costing of any new and minor works/upgrades as and when required.
- Ensure that all internal and external building fabric and decoration is in a sound condition and maintains relevant published quality condition standards.
- Ensure that all PPM and capital/minor works as completed to a high standard.
- To ensure that all staff full understand and operate to relevant Health & safety legislation and participate in the coordinating of health and safety management across the trust
