Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and motivated Band 6 Specialist Nurse/Practitioner to join our dynamic Vascular Access Team at the Northumbria Specialist Emergency Care Hospital (NSECH).
As part of a forward-thinking and supportive multidisciplinary team, you will play a key role in the delivery of high-quality vascular access services across the Trust. You will be involved in the insertion and management of a variety of vascular access devices (VADs), supporting both inpatient and outpatient care pathways.
This role offers the opportunity to develop advanced clinical skills, contribute to service improvement, and support the training and education of staff across the Trust in best practices for vascular access and line care.
Main duties of the job
- The delivery of education and training relating to VADs trust wide
- Participation in the surveillance of all VADs within the inpatient population
- Facilitating clinical audits and contributing to the development of guidelines and policies relating to vascular access Trust wide
- Inserting a range of VADs at the point of care
- Providing day-to-day supervision of the unqualified members of the VAT in the absence of the senior Vascular Access Team colleagues.
