Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Nurse Practitioner to join the Urgent Care Team at Hexham Hospital. We are looking for an experienced Nurse Practitioner who has experience in treating minor injury and illness in both adults and children.
The Practitioner will work independently treating a varied group of patients and work alongside Doctors, nurse practitioners, and healthcare assistants in our Urgent Treatment Centre.

Main duties of the job
- To independently triage, assess, plan, implement and evaluate programmes of care in partnership with the patient and the multidisciplinary team.
- To apply you require advanced knowledge and skills during the management and provision of patient care, working within defined parameters.
- To discharge patients or refer to appropriate departments and specialities.
- To promote health with all patients and carers.
- To take responsibility on a regular basis for the organisation and co-ordination of nursing services in the department.
- To deliver governance standards in line with the 'Essence of Care Standards' and the Trust's Governance framework.
- To practice within Emergency Nurse Practitioner Policies.
- To support the Department Manager in her accountability of the department, members of staff, pay and non pay budget.
