Job summary

Northumbria Healthcare Facilities Management (NHFM) provides specialist project management, estates maintenance and a full range of facilities services. Please note that NHFML is a wholly owned subsidiary of Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust. The successful applicant will be an employee of the subsidiary and not the NHS. Main duties of the job

Our Domestics maintain the standard of cleanliness throughout our hospital, corporateand community settings by means of approved cleaning methods.

The role is to support high standards of care to our patients. You will need to embrace our trust values, demonstrate excellent communication skills, and have a flexible approach to your work.

We particularly require bank Domestics who can cover shifts in the following areas:

  • Alnwick
  • Berwick
  • Blyth
  • Hexham
  • North Tyneside General Hospital
  • NSECH
  • Wansbeck General Hospital

We have variety of shifts across 7 days a week and there will be hours to suit all and our expectation is that you pick up a minimum of two shifts per month. Our standard hourly pay is approx. £12.51. We offer hourly pay enhancements for shifts covered at night and over the weekends. This equates to approx. £17.63 per hour on a Saturday or any weekday between the hours of 8pm and 6am, or £22.90 per hour on a Sunday or public holiday.

Maintain the standard of cleanliness as specified throughout the designated work area by means of approved cleaning methods.

Able to complete a range of routine work procedures such as:

Cleaning of floor areas as scheduled by means of vacuuming, mopping, buffing and spray cleaning.

Undertake deep cleans in areas where infection is present

Removal of rubbish including domestic and clinical waste from designated areas to disposal point

Maintain the standard of cleanliness as specified throughout the designated work area by means of approved cleaning methods.

Able to complete a range of routine work procedures such as: Cleaning of floor areas as scheduled by means of vacuuming, mopping, buffing and spray cleaning. Undertake deep cleans in areas where infection is present Removal of rubbish including domestic and clinical waste from designated areas to disposal point Cleaning of sanitary areas, toilet, sinks, shower cubicles and staff changing areas Damp dusting of all surfaces, ledges, shelves, curtain rails Cleaning of internal glass Taking down and putting up of curtains Scheduled cleaning of chairs Scheduled cleaning of carpets To wash walls (shoulder height) fitting and windows where required Use all equipment and materials in a correct and safe manner Report all faults queries or problems to the Ward Manager/Domestic Supervisor

Maintain high standards of cleanliness in all work areas Carry out any urgent spot cleaning and spillage Participate in training programmes relevant to efficiency, fire drills, hygiene, the requirements of the health and safety at Work regulations and other courses as deemed necessary for the efficient working of the department. Any other duties as deemed appropriate.
