Job summary
We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our busy team within the Pharmacy department. Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced candidates to join our administrative team to provide secretarial support.
This post will be full time Monday to Friday and worked on flexi time (which can be explained further to the successful candidate).This will be working within the Pharmacy Team based at North Tyneside General Hospital. The successful candidates may be required to work elsewhere in the Trust.
Main duties of the job
To providing secretarial support to the Chief Pharmacist/Clinical Director for Medicines Management, deputies and Pharmacy Senior Management Team (PSMT), in addition to introduce and maintain effective administrative systems to enable the efficient running of the management office of the department.

- Arrange meetings/events for multiple participants, internal and external to the Trust, comparing options which are often conflicting, propose solutions and/or compromises.
- Use analytical skills to make decisions regarding re-organising diaries for senior staff to accommodate competing demands and priorities
- Undertake activities within the pharmacy that contribute to the efficient and effective delivery of medicines/care to patients.
- Be the first point of contact for patients/other users of pharmacy services, who may have an enquiry, wish to complain or speak to a member of PSMT
- Assist PSMT in monitoring sickness absence, annual leave, special leave, flexi time and study leave of pharmacy staff (in liaison with HR Advisor)

- Vocational Level 3 in a relevant subject or an equivalent level of knowledge and / or experience of administrative and secretarial procedures. ?In addition to this level of qualification the post holder will have the knowledge and experience to deal with non-routine issues that require problem solving or developing alternative procedures within the department
- IT skills to at least ECDL standard or equivalent experience including Microsoft Office software, Outlook, Word, Powerpoint, Excel etc
- RSA 3 Typing (or equivalent) or able to prove equivalent through relevant experience.
