Job summary
We are searching for a senior nurse to lead and manage a team of nurses within our Ambulatory Care unit at the Northumbria Hospital.
The successful candidate will have outstanding communication skills, will be dynamic, highly motivated and committed to high quality patient care. The post holder will require a flexible approach, have expertise in supporting the delivery of high standards of nursing care for patients within the acute pathway, and will be able to demonstrate exceptional clinical leadership and communication skills across the multi- disciplinary team.
The Ward Manager role includes being responsible and accountable for the day to day management of the unit, and having an enthusiasm for staff and service development. Professional attributes would include ability to deal with change, and being able to work autonomously and effectively within the multidisciplinary team.
Ambulatory Care Unit cares for patients with a full range of conditions and provides evidence based multi-disciplinary care with a focus on the patients ongoing journey support to return to their own home or to further healthcare setting.

Main duties of the job
To be responsible for all nursing care standards and to maintain high clinical standardsTo exercise accountability as set out in NMC Code of Professional ConductTo support the Senior Nurse/Service Manager in the effective utilization of resourcesTo role model compassionate and inclusive leadership in order to shape the creation of a collective leadership culture within the trust. This means demonstrating a consistent leadership style which: (a) engages, enables and empowers others (b) uses coaching to promote ownership of learning and quality improvement and (c) facilitates team working and collaboration within teams/departments and across organisational boundaries.
