Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a hardworking, enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our busy Surgery wards based at Northumbria Specialist Emergency Care Hospital, Cramlington.

This post is full time and will cover The Birthing Centre, but may also be called to cover Ambulatory Care Unit, and Wards 1 and 15.

The shifts will be on a rolling rota basis and will cover long days and weekends. To be discussed further at interview.

Main duties of the job

Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced candidates to provide a reception service, and act as an initial first contact for patients, visitors and other healthcare professionals on the telephone and face to face.

The successful candidate will provide support on the Maternity Unit and cover to the other Surgical Wards and departments in absence due to sickness and holidays. The post holder should have excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills and ideally be able to work flexibly with minimum supervision.

The post will be based at Northumbria Specialist Emergency Care Hospital, Cramlington however depending on service needs you may be asked to cover other base sites.
