Job summary
Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust is seeking to appoint a Consultant in Occupational Health and Wellbeing to complement the existing multidisciplinary team.
The Occupational Health and Wellbeing Service (OHWS) is hosted within the People and Organisational Development Directorate at Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust (NHCT). The department provides a comprehensive service to over 22,000 staff within NHCT and other local organisations.
We are proud to have our 10th year of SEQOHS accreditation, recent assessment undertaken in November 2024. This demonstrates our commitment to Safe, Effective, Quality provision of Occupational Health. In addition, in 2024 we were winners of the NHS Health at Work Network Recognition Awards 'Growing the strategic identity of OH & Wellbeing', as well as joint winners for 'Outstanding Occupational Health Team 2024' by the Society of Occupational Medicine. We are one of a few Foundation Trusts to have been twice rated 'outstanding' overall by the CQC, and consistently one of the best performing NHS organisations in the country.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will be instrumental in promoting the success of the Occupational Health and Wellbeing Service, ensuring that our clients receive a quality service based on the principles of clinical governance.
In conjunction with the Occupational Health Nurses, the post holder will demonstrate specialist knowledge and expertise in Occupational Health as a clinician, educator, advisor and advocate, empowering staff and acting as role model, ensuring good working relationships.
The underlying aim and value of this role is to provide integrated patient centred care of a high quality that promotes the optimum level of health and wellbeing for the people we serve.
