Job summary

We have an exciting opportunity for a Registered Nurse or Operating Department Practitioners to work as part of our highly motivated and dynamic General Surgery Team. The vacancy will be within the Orthopaedic surgery scrub team at North Tyneside General Hospital.

Main duties of the job

We are looking to hire keen and enthusiastic practitioners skilled and experienced in Orthopaedic Surgery scrub to join our high performing teams delivering safe, high-quality patient care. We have a wide range of training opportunities available to support your personal development and offer speciality training in your chosen field.

The successful post holder must be able to role model compassionate and inclusive leadership in order to shape the creation of a collective leadership culture within the Trust.

Essential

  • 1st Level live NMC Registered General Nurse or Operating Department Practitioner qualification
  • Registered Mentor. Mentorship Qualification or relevant equivalent qualification (essential requirement for post, expectation this will be completed within an 18 month period).
  • Evidence of ongoing practice development

Desirable

  • Recognised teaching qualification
  • Post Registration qualification in specialty
  • Diploma/degree in nursing/or health related topic
  • Recognised post graduate theatre/anaesthetic qualification

Experience and knowledge

Essential

  • Evidence of ongoing practice development

Desirable

  • Completion of in-house training scheme

  • It is an essential requirement of the role that the post holder has a valid driving licence and is either a car owner and able to use the car for work purposes, or has a Trust personal lease vehicle which may be used for the role.
