Job summary
To support continued expansion of the Trusts internal development function we require a Head of Development who has experience of leading large dev functions and has the technical capability to support the Trusts cloud first development strategy.
This role will define the future of technology within the Trust but also impact wider within the region and on a national level with involvement on a wide variety of projects.
We offer flexible working arrangements with 27 days annual leave as standard, this increase to 29 after 4 years service and 33 days after 10 years.

Main duties of the job
The post holder is professionally accountable as the Lead Architect, Developer and mentor to the development teams within Digital Services. The post holder will be responsible for highly complex strategic and innovative solutions with the ability to present and articulate technical executions clearly and concisely to internal and external stakeholders.
Working closely with the Deputy Director of Digital you will help shape and deliver the roadmap to underpin Northumbria Trusts high levels of care. In summary you will be responsible for the following areas:

- Professional knowledge acquired through degree or equivalent experience, and specialist knowledge acquired through post graduate courses & experience to Masters or equivalent level plus in-depth managerial, technical and strategic knowledge.
- Requires highly developed, in depth specialist knowledge, underpinned by theory and professional experience of disciplines including technical development, Quality Assurance and IM&T service delivery acquired through training and experience over an extended period.
