Job summary
We are looking for compassionate and dedicated support workers to assist in the delivery of therapeutic interventions to service users within the North Tyneside CAMHS service. The service caters for young people aged 0 -18 and their families and offers a wide variety of assessment, formulation and treatment options for a range of mental health presentations including those young people with neurodiversity.
The post works as part of a multi-disciplinary team and regular supervision is provided by a more senior practitioner. The post holder is expected to be involved in all aspects of service delivery.
Main duties of the job
To support young people and families to access evidence based therapeutic services within CAMHS
To contribute to the delivery of individual and group therapeutic interventions under the supervision of a senior practitioner
To implement and evaluate care within a prescribed framework as a member of the multi-disciplinary team
To support the team in providing safe and high quality child and young person centred care.
To provide compassionate care that is based on empathy, kindness, respect and dignity.
To actively engage with supervision and appraisal process as identified in Trust policy.
To contribute to all aspects of service provision within CAMHS
Essential
NVQ level 3 support worker or health equivalent to city and guilds level 3 certificate, or significant demonstrable experience working in a Child and Young person mental health setting.
Experience of working in a health care setting.
Experience of planning and carrying out activities
Ability to work autonomously with individuals/groups within a supportive environment
Good interpersonal skills.
Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
Demonstrate ability to establish and maintain therapeutic partnerships with service users and carers via supervision from clinicians.
Develop planning, evaluation skills and demonstrate ability to contribute to discussion to determine ongoing needs and delivery of therapeutic interventions.
