Job summary

This post is for the Apprenticeship Programme Facilitator for the Level 2 Healthcare Support Worker Apprenticeship. The successful candidates will focus on this apprenticeship programme but also support the facilitation for additional apprenticeship programmes and opportunities.

The postholder will support the Apprenticeship team in coordinating and delivering effective apprenticeship training curriculum, and liaising with the Business Units as appropriate with regard to programme recruitment and delivery.

They will also utilise a range of robust systems and processes that support both Apprenticeship Team and Organisational Development, delivering upon key objectives and outcomes as required on a Trustwide basis. Along with upholding professional and regulatory standards relating to apprenticeship delivery.

This team member will contribute to the creation, agreement and delivery of the Apprenticeship Delivery Plan and also the Human Resources/Organisational Development Strategy and Action Plan; by providing a high quality service to ensure the organisation meets a range of key performance indicators relating to the Apprenticeship team.

We expect this person to role model compassionate and inclusive teaching practices and inspire a positive apprenticeship learning culture.

Main duties of the job

  • To deliver high quality training packages to apprenticeship learners; upholding standards and compliance with regulatory bodies of the field.
  • To assess, support and challenge apprentices to develop their knowledge, skills and behaviours in line with their apprenticeship standard.
  • To provide and/or facilitate individualised training and support to new apprentices along with some elements of pastoral care support.
  • To support day to day management and supervision for the Apprenticeship team.
  • To facilitate and support the use of appropriate training interventions that are fit for purpose including the identification of learning needs at an operational level.
  • To ensure appropriate apprenticeship key objectives are achieved in line with the dedicated Business Unit's Learning and Development plans and the Apprenticeship Delivery Plan.
  • To support all marketing, communication and promotion, including the attendance of career events.
  • To participate in Internal Quality Assurance for work based, vocational and academic learning and support all external audit requirements.

Essential

  • Level 5 qualification in an appropriate subject or equivalent portfolio of experience
  • NMC or AHP Registration (if a requirement for the role)
  • For NMC postholders: Evidence of qualification to undertake the supervision, teaching and assessing of students (essential requirement for post, expectation this will be completed within an 18 month period).

Desirable

  • Relevant Workplace Qualification for assessment and verification purposes i.e. EPA
  • Relevant Teaching Qualification

Experience

Essential

  • Specialist knowledge of apprenticeships in required field of competencegained via previous experience of working in a Learning and Development environment.
  • In depth knowledge of NHS Learning and Development requirements
  • Experience of facilitating and the delivery of a wide range of apprenticeship programmes and projects both in-house, partnership and external to the organisation
  • Proven track record in delivery of teaching, assessing (Internal Verification), evaluating and adapting a wide range of programmes including ability to engage and adapt associated learning and development methodologies as required.
