Job summary
Northumbria Primary Care are excited to announce an opportunity for a motivated Practice Nurse to join our team at Spring Terrace Health Centre and Park Parade Surgery. This will role ill be based across both surgeries.
The post holder will work alongside our current practice nurse ad HCAs to deliver a high standard of enhanced nursing services to the whole practice population including chronic disease management, health promotion, maintaining immunisations and screening programmes.
We ae looking for a highly motivated and skilled and enthusiastic team player who can demonstrate high standards of clinical excellence. You will become part of an experienced, pro-active and friendly team working to serve patients cross NPC.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will ideally be fully competent in Primary Care Nursing duties however full training will be offered to the right candidate. They will complete competencies in primary care nursing duties, carrying out long term condition reviews, (Asthma, Hypertension, COPD, Diabetes etc), smears, baby immunisations, taking blood samples and travel vaccines. The post holder will frequently work unsupervised and is accountable for their practice. This will require critical thinking and skills in decision making in the management of patients.
As an experienced nurse you will be a role model, using compassionate and inclusive leadership in order to shape the creation of a collective leadership culture within the organisation. This means demonstrating a consistent leadership style which engages, enables and empowers others and uses coaching to promote ownership of learning and quality improvement. This will facilitate team working and collaboration within teams and departments and across organisational boundaries.
The successful candidate may at times be required to work across all GP Practices within NPC
About us
Northumbria Primary Care Ltd (NPC) is a pioneering partnership with local GPs and now manages several GP practices with around 50,000 registered patients in Northumberland and North Tyneside.
Whilst appointees will have a base practice within NPC,they may be asked to work at other practices across our group. We do however limit this as much as possible as we appreciate continuity is vital to effective primary care.
