Ward 7 NTGH is a surgical unit that cares for elective and emergency patients who are transferred from The Northumbria Hospital at Cramlington. Specialities include; Colorectal, Upper Gastrointestinal, Breast Surgery, Plastics, Gynaecology and bariatric surgery.
We are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic, highly-motivated and caring member of staff to work in this area.
The successful candidate will be expected to work as part of a dynamic nursing team delivering all aspects of care to patients.

Main duties of the job
We are seeking to employ a Deputy Ward Manager. If you are a highly motivated and enthusiastic nurse this maybe the position for you.
The post holder will be required take charge of the department, assist with HR, appraisal and health roster processes, as well as lead on new projects to enhance patient experiences.
The successful candidate will have experience in leading teams and must be able to role model compassionate and inclusive leadership. The successful post holder must be able to role model compassionate and inclusive leadership in order to shape the creation of a collective leadership culture within the Trust.

- To supervise, support and educate junior members of the team.
- To provide senior nurse site management cover.
- To exercise accountability as set out in the NMC Code of Professional Conduct.
- To be responsibility for all nursing care standards and to maintain high clinical standards.
- To act as team leader and co-ordinate the multi-disciplinary care of a group of patients.
- To role model compassionate and inclusive leadership in order to shape the creation of a collective leadership culture within the trust. This means demonstrating a consistent leadership style which (a) engages, enables and empowers others (b) uses coaching to promote ownership of learning and quality improvement and (c) facilitates team working and collaboration within teams / departments and across organisational boundaries.
