Job summary

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy team within JMAPS (Joint Musculoskeletal And Pain Service). The postholder will mainly be based at Wansbeck General Hospital, including working in the gym-based functional rehabilitation unit (Hartford Unit) but may also be required to work at other sites.

Main duties of the job

The post would require the applicant, after training, to be competent in issuing walking aids and off-the-shelf wrist/hand splints, . The postholder may be required to oversee preplanned treatment programmes including group programmes. The applicant would be expected to assist in non-clinical duties such as arranging patient transport, data collection, ordering stock. They would also be expected to have a significant role in maintaining the overall hygiene and cleanliness of the department.

JMAPS (Joint Musculoskeletal And Pain Service) is the musculoskeletal Physiotherapy service in Northumberland, part of Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust. We have clinics based at Wansbeck General Hospital, Hexham General Hospital, Alnwick Infirmary and Berwick Infirmary and also at some smaller community hospitals and GP practices across the county.
