WCS Expert Practitioner/Service Lead, Wheelchair Services
The Community Services Business Unit in Northumbria Healthcare NHS Trust delivers a wide range of health services to meet the needs of local people. As part of the continued service improvement programme, we have recently created the capacity to offer enhanced support to our Wheelchair Service across Northumberland and North Tyneside.
As a result, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and enthusiastic Wheelchair Therapy (Physiotherapist or Occupational Therapist) leader to manage this clinical service at a pivotal time in the implementation of key operational and strategic developments and to evaluate initiatives to delivery continuous improvements.
Main duties of the job
You will have operational management knowledge, experience of leading teams/services, a track record of managing projects through to successful completion and will recently have been involved in leading complex change.
Your excellent communication and teamworking skills will enable you and our team to embrace quality improvement as a continuum in order to enhance the patient and staff experience and ensure maximum value in all they do.
This role will appeal to skilled and innovative staff who are committed to supporting the delivery of high-quality services. As a successful candidate, you will have some experience of project management and quality improvement and their supporting tools. Ideally you will have some skill in analysis and interpretation of data and information. order to support needs assessment, priority setting, business planning, monitoring, audit and evaluation.
Good organisational and time management skills are essential, along with excellent interpersonal skills and positive teamworking encouraging a culture of shared responsibility and openness to change to continue to generate and implement service improvements.

- Post Graduate training relevant to specialist area
