Job summary
We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic team player who can demonstrate high standards of receptionist and administrative skills. You will become part of an experienced, pro-active, and friendly team working to serve patients through general practice. The post will be subject to a rolling rota which may also include Extended Hours provision at Haydon Bridge & Allendale Surgery.The successful candidate will ideally have a background of working in primary care, as well as strong customer service and administrative skills. The candidate must be able to prioritise workload without supervision and have good organisational and IT skills. Answer telephone calls, respond to all enquiries, direct the public as and when appropriate, and provide admin support to nursing & clinical staff. Full training will be provided on the use of SystmOne.
Main duties of the job
To receive all patients & visitors into the surgery.
To answer telephone calls & respond to all enquires directing the public as appropriate.
To provide admin support to nursing & clinical staff.
To ensure all Emergency Care documentation is coded & filed correctly, and copies are sent to relevant health care professionals.
To provide non clinical advice to patients, relatives, the public and internal & external agencies.
Responsible for the ordering & maintenance of stock levels clinical & non-clinical.
To receive confidential information by telephone or face to face and input accurately into both EMIS and SystemOne as appropriate.

Northumbria Primary Care Ltd (NPC) is a pioneering partnership with local GPs and now manages several GP practices with around 50,000 registered patients in Northumberland and North Tyneside.
Whilst appointees will have a base practice within NPC,they may be asked to work at other practices across our group. We do however limit this as much as possible as we appreciate continuity is vital to effective primary care.
