Job summary

An exciting opportunity to work in a busy Children's A&E and Ward with dynamic team. Working between both areas on one unit caring for children from birth to age 15yrs presenting with a wide range of injuries and illnesses.

- Flexibility to meet the needs of the service.

- Shift work.

Main duties of the job

- Support the team on the Children's Ward and A&E Unit.

- Carry out regular observations on Children.

- Assist with simple dressings/cleaning of wounds.

- Support at meal times on the ward.

  • NVQ level 2 in childcare or evidence of equivalent experience
  • Evidence of working with children, young people and their families
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Ability to work as part of the multidisciplinary team

  • Knowledge and understanding of child development
  • Knowledge and understanding of child protection issues and reporting mechanisms
  • ECDL qualification
