Job summary
Accountable to the MD for the provision of leadership, direction and financial control for all schemes and developments of a capital nature, contributing to and ensuring the delivery of strategic and operational service objectives and corporate policies set by the NHFM Board and its customers. Foster a culture, which engages, all staff and colleagues in the development and delivery of project and contract requirements.
Professionally and technically accountable for NHFM's construction and for strategic policy development in specialist areas: Planning, procurement, design, project management, bid management and work winning. To be responsible for the operation of the information systems to support these functions effectively (marketing, brand and selling the services NHFM offer)
Provide expert specialist and professional construction, design and engineering advice to other staff, directors, senior managers and customers of the organization.
Professionally and technically responsible for policy development in bid / contract specialist areas of procurement, design, planning, project management and compiling business cases for approval.
Act as Project Director and Project Manager on selected schemes.
On a day-today basis act as main contractor for finance / invoicing / contracts and associated work streams.
Main duties of the job
Responsible for PMO and Capital services.
Responsible for compiling and delivery of a 5-year capital plan and an annual breakdown of capital requirements on equipment replacement, H&S/risk, Backlog Maintenance and major capital schemes the results of which will impact on the whole organisation.
Directly control and manage pay and non-pay budgets for all Capital requirements/schemes, ensuring that all budgets are kept within the financial limits set and value for money is obtained throughout. Budgets circa £ 20 - 30 million per annum.
Direct line management responsibilities.
Ensuring quality of design and completed schemes, cost control at all stages ensuring performance and value for money, controlling variations to project costs, and delivery of scheme to agreed programmes.
Leading MDT teams of consultants and stakeholders.
Appointing, instructing and overseeing the work of external consultants.
Coordinating feasibility schemes, estimated costs and financial analysis in business cases and delivery of projects in house and externally.
To manage the bid qualification (bid go / no go) process for new opportunities.Manage bid teams and inputs from a variety of stakeholders, typically involving contributions from sales, marketing, product team, finance, commercial, legal and delivery. Ensure timely delivery of compliant and commercially sound bids.
Arrange all post bid reviews with customers, post contract award.

The Deputy Director is a key member of the NHFMs executive management team who will work closely with other senior colleagues and contribute to the overall management of the Company and the services it provides. The post holder will work directly to the Managing Director and be Client focused whilst being responsible for significant capital schemes.
You will play a key role in supporting and leading a range of Capital Services with associated business, strategic and operational activities that reviews and reports on quality, safety, standards, effectiveness, finance and performance within your sphere of responsibility. The successful candidate will have the skills, knowledge and leadership qualities to facilitate the delivering of robust operational, governance, safety and strategy and ensure that a great client and staff experience is part of the team culture.
