Main duties of the job

Reporting to the Information Assurance and Security Manager, and under the day to day direction of the Technical Information Security Engineers, you will be joining a busy IT Security team that supports and advises the operational Digital Services implementation teams in delivering robust and secure projects and improvements across the Trusts infrastructure.

You will carry out the daily security monitoring tasks, actioning mitigations and responses, and escalating as required.

You will work with the Security Specialists and Engineers to investigate, risk-assess, and mitigate cyebr security issues, and assist with the record-keeping and documentation of team activities,

Job responsibilities

  • Assist in ensuring high availability, security and usability of Trust digital services.
  • Review daily detections from Trust security systems and ensure they are being managed and have been escalated where required.
  • Monitor CyberSecurity mailbox and ensure escalation of serious issues.
  • Assist in the investigation of routine security enquiries & queries from staff & provide assistance & advice as required.
  • Participate in the testing and deployment of security fixes, changes, and configurations as required.

    Essential Qualifications:

    • ECDL or equivalent academic qualification or course certificates.

    Desirable Qualifications:

    • Cyber security courses, or qualifications

    Essential Knowledge:

    • The principles of cyber security, cyber risk and cyber threats

    Desirable Knowledge

    • GDPR
    • Data Security and Protection Toolkit

    Essential Experience

    • Configuration and support of corporate IT systems.
    • Troubleshooting hardware and software issues, including Windows products.

    Desirable Experience

    • Experience of investigating and resolving incidents
    • System management, administration, and reporting tools.
