Job summary
A Chaplain Entry Level is responsible for sharing in the provision of a comprehensive Chaplaincy Service within the Trust that seeks to meet the Spiritual and Religious needs of Patients, Carers and Staff.
The successful post holder will be a reference point for Spiritual/Religious matters within the organisation and a link with Religious/Community agencies outside the organisation.
To be part of the chaplaincy team which includes Chaplains and Chaplaincy Volunteers. The team deliver spiritual care available to all patients, staff and visitors. The post also involves participating in the 24 hour oncall rota providing spiritual, pastoral and religious care in urgent situations often involving the need for Christian Sacrament and ministry.
A Chaplain Entry Level will complete training and ordination to enable progress to Chaplain Grade.

This role will be 7.5 hours per week only.

Under the supervision of the Chaplaincy Team leader or a designated Chaplain the Chaplain Entry Level will:
- Be responsible for designated work across inpatient sites
- Share in a 24-hour call cover to the Trust.
- Be responsible for supervising Volunteers. as delegated by the Chaplaincy Team Leader or in their absence

- Has completed clergy training or is a 'minister in training' with ability and authorisation to minister (i.e. 'Minister in Training' with plan for ordination). Authorised by supporting denomination with ongoing authorization during employment.

- Pastoral Care and some counselling experience
