Job summary

A very exciting and rare opportunity has arisen in the North Tyneside Talking Therapies Service for an NHS Talking Therapies Clinical Lead. We are looking for a highly experienced and accredited mental health clinician with substantial clinical experience and clinical leadership, to collaboratively lead the North Tyneside Talking Therapies service.

The successful candidate will clinically lead a well established NHS Talking Therapies service for the population of North Tyneside and provide clinical supervision to a range of experienced psychological therapist as part of the NHS Talking Therapies national programme.

You will work collaboratively with the Senior Management team to lead and develop the service clinically in line with national targets, contractual obligations and locally agreed parameters.

Main duties of the job

To clinically lead the delivery and provision of NHS Talking Therapies to the population of North Tyneside, providing highly specialist psychological assessment, therapy and clinical risk management.

To provide high quality clinical supervision to senior therapists, high and low intensity clinicians who offer a range of evidence-based NHS Talking Therapies.

To support the service in its performance responsibilities, clinical governance strategies, research and audit projects to continuously improve clinical effectiveness.

To support the development of relevant pathways both internally and external to the service including therapy pathways for those patients with mental health problems and co-morbid specific long term physical health conditions.

Lead the service collaboratively with the Senior Manager and Psychology lead to ensure all aspects of the entire North Tyneside Talking Therapies service are clinically robust and safe.

Provide clinical input by carrying a small caseload, provide training as relevant and plan for clinical development throughout the NHS Talking Therapies element of the service.

The North Tyneside Talking Therapies service is part of our community services business unit and provides NHS Talking Therapies and primary care psychology services for the population of North Tyneside. We are a large fully integrated Talking Therapies service, consisting of Clinical & Counselling Psychologists, Psychological Therapists, IAPT High Intensity and Low Intensity staff; which offer a range of psychological therapies across steps 2 - 4.
