Job summary
The Associate Project Manager will be involved in the procurement and implementation of projects across a wide range of subject areas. At times, with the smaller scale projects the post holder will be called upon to manage and lead these projects. The post holder will also be involved in larger scale strategic projects supporting the Senior Project Managers by managing a work stream or particular element of a programme. The ability to manage multiple tasks is key as well as good organisational skills in this busy environment.

- Projects range in cost from £5,000 - >£1,000,000.
- Staff impacted by projects can range from 5 - 10,000.
- Projects may last between several weeks and in excess of one year.
- Staff involved in core project teams normally range from 5 - 7, larger projects can encompass 30 - 40 staff across all professional staff groups.
- Analysis, planning and production of all relevant project documentation on receipt of a project mandate to deliver project goals.
- Project manages projects or work packages as delegated.
- In relation to individual projects the Associate Project Manager is required to report to the Senior Project Manager and the Project Board, headed by a Senior Responsible Officer.
- Overall project progress is also reported through the standard and appropriate communication mechanisms.
- To role model compassionate and inclusive leadership in order to shape the creation of a collective leadership culture within service. This means demonstrating a consistent leadership style which engages, enables and empowers others, uses coaching to promote ownership of learning and quality improvement and facilitates team working and collaboration within teams / departments and across organisational boundaries.
