To provide healthcare support to children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
This is a excellent opportunity to make a difference with children and young people with SEND, attending specialist school provision in Northumberland.

Main duties of the job
To assist the special school nurses to provide healthcare and nursing support to enable children and young people with SEND to attend school.
To provide health education and health support to children, young people and their families. This is done through 1:1 support, drop in sessions, small group work, whole classroom sessions, parent workshops and at home visits.
To assist with monitoring the health and wellbeing of the children and young people in school; providing assistance in school clinics and to visiting healthcare specialists.
Provide continence advice and support including completing initial toileting assessments and annual re-assessments.
Provide administration support to the special school nurses with the patient electronic system.

- Under direction implement programmes of care.
- Participate in professional meetings/take minutes. e.g. care team meetings
- Under direction organise own workload, including own home visits, school visits and groups.
- Promote friendly and trust building relationships with children, young people and their families
- Maintain accurate records according to policies and procedures.
- Work within Safeguarding policies and procedures.
