Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an experienced Divisional Quality Governance Lead to provide senior leadership across the Surgical Division, supporting high-quality, safe and effective patient care.

Main duties of the job

Reporting to the Divisional Director of Quality and Nursing - Surgery, you will lead the delivery of the quality governance, patient safety, clinical effectiveness and patient experience agenda across the Surgical Division.

You will:

Lead and oversee divisional quality governance systems and risk management

Continue to support the embedding of the Patient Safety Incident Response Framework (PSIRF)

Chair governance meetings and produce high-quality reports and assurance

Lead incident learning, audit and quality improvement activity

Support CQC readiness and national safety requirements

Work closely with divisional leaders, corporate quality teams and external partners

Essential:

Healthcare-related degree and Masters level qualification (or equivalent experience)

Current professional registration (e.g. NMC/HCPC)

Experience of clinical governance, risk management and PSIRF

Excellent communication, leadership and report-writing skills

  • Skills with the preparation of clear and concise reports, using a range of software in clinical settings, patient care and experience
  • Demonstrates experience of leading change and problem solving in clinical settings, patient care and experience
  • Substantial experience of senior leadership/ management role working within an acute NHS trust
  • Experience with the Risk/Incident management System and PSIRF learning responses
  • Substantial experience of coaching, teaching and mentoring more junior staff
  • Experience of working with clinical teams to support improvement in patient safety

  • Project Management/Service Improvement Qualification
  • Advances courses related to patient safety (PSIRF)
  • Knowledge of quality improvement methodologies
