We are looking for a Portfolio Director for Improvement and Transformation Delivery who will provide strategic leadership for the organisation's Improvement and transformation portfolio, ensuring delivery of major change programmes that improve quality, efficiency, patient experience, and financial sustainability. The postholder leads the design, governance, and delivery and execution of a multi-year transformation strategy and programme and Financial Sustainability Programme (FSP), working across clinical, operational and corporate divisions to deliver measurable benefits taking a continuous improvement approach and building improvement capability across the organization.

This role is pivotal in shaping the organisation's future operating model, embedding a new approach to change and transformation and a culture of continuous improvement. It will ensure alignment with the Trusts new 5-Year Strategy which is aligned to the ICB Strategic Commissioning intentions, ICS priorities and national NHS policy.

Main duties of the job

As Portfolio Transformation and Improvement Director you will be responsible for setting direction for a key transformation priority, ensuring delivery at pace across the organization. The post holder will need to be highly experienced in delivering significant transformation programmes using continuous improvement approaches and will understand the high level of organisational and political sensitivity required to ensure successful delivery of programmes at this level. They will need to manage a complex set of relationships with both internal and external stakeholders whilst delivering the transformation aims and will be required to regularly engage with Boards and Committees both at Trust and system level, and with other key committees in public such as the Health Overview and Scrutiny Committee.

Drive cross organisational initiatives that improve population health outcomes and reduce unwarranted variation.

Leadership of People & Culture

Lead and develop a high performing transformation and improvement team.

  • NHS senior management or leadership course
