Job summary
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Deputy Head of BI (Intelligence) to join our Business Intelligence & Insight Department. This senior leadership role is central to driving the development of high-quality intelligence across the Trust and ensuring that robust, insightful analysis supports operational performance, clinical care and strategic planning.
The post holder will provide senior leadership within the BI function and will deputise for the Deputy CDIO/CDAO when required. They will lead key elements of the Trust's analytics work programme particularly centred on organisational engagement relating to improved coding, champion the transition from reporting to surfacing intelligence, and work closely with Divisions, corporate teams and senior clinical leaders.
We are looking for an experienced analytical leader with experience working with complex health data and the ability to communicate insights clearly to a wide range of audiences. The successful candidate will be collaborative, proactive and committed to using data and evidence to support better outcomes for patients and support the organisation to strengthen its evidence based decision making.

Main duties of the job
They will:
- Lead and represent the BI function across the organisation, raising its profile and demonstrating its strategic value
- Drive the Trust's development towards a data-driven decision-making environment, including the use of varied data sources to surface intelligence rather than simply reporting data
- Lead benchmarking work, identify data-quality trends and act as a key stakeholder in improving data maturity across the Trust
- Support and shape the continued development of the Trust's clinical coding programme, including service engagement and data-quality improvement initiatives
- Oversee the production of high-quality intelligence, ensuring accuracy, timeliness and compliance with statutory and governance requirements
- Ensure BI processes and procedures are well-documented and aligned to departmental, digital and organisational strategies
- Manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced and evolving information environment, maintaining attention to detail and high standards under pressure
