Job summary
Maternity Clinical Effectiveness and Quality Improvement Midwife, Band 7 (24 hours a week)
We are looking for an experienced and highly motivated midwife to work closely with the Maternity Clinical Effectiveness team to provide expert knowledge, assistance and support to perinatal staff to enable high quality effective clinical audit and QI projects to be undertaken. The post holder will support all aspects of QI within perinatal services.
Main duties of the job
To support perinatal governance processes through their assurance and quality improvement (QI) activities. The post holder will use their administrative and quality improvement skills to enable and empower clinical and operational teams to lead their own quality improvement projects and programmes within their service. The post holder will track key performance indicators, providing assurance at Divisional and Trust level of compliance, or escalation of issues that arise as necessary.
The post holder will facilitate priority QI projects related to Trust objectives (e.g CQuIMs and National Audits present on the Quality Account).
The post holder will support the clinical teams with the speciality audit programme to ensure improvements are embedded and learning shared with the clinical teams.

Essential
- Active registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council
- United Kingdom recognised Degree in Midwifery Practice
- Evidence of ongoing professional development through maintenance of professional portfolio and registration revalidation
- Current experience and evidence of working as a Band 6 midwife or above
Knowledge and Skills
