Main duties of the job

We anticipate that the applicant for this post will have MRCP and working at ST3+ with geriatric medicine experience within the NHS, and an evidenced commitment to a career in geriatric medicine. The objective of this post is to offer more focussed experience in frailty work and interface medicine on a Frailty Assessment Unit and Frailty Virtual Ward, with an opportunity to develop skills in a geriatric medicine subspecialty of particular interest to the candidate. This would be suitable for a candidate looking for Out of Programme Experience or to develop their portfolio in preparation to becoming a Specialist Doctor or CESR.

Educational supervision will be provided by a geriatrician.

We will encourage the completion of a quality improvement project and poster presentation or publication.

There is no on call commitment, but the successful candidate would join a 1in 7 weekend rota reviewing inpatients and working on the frailty unit.
