Saving Babies' Lives Lead Midwife, Band 7

Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced midwife to lead on the implementation of the Saving Babies Lives Care Bundle version 3 (SBLCBv3). The role will also include leading related projects to improve the safety and quality of maternity services.

Main duties of the job

Clinical Responsibilities/Key Responsibilities

- Lead development, implementation, and monitoring of SBLCBv3, ensuring compliance with national standards, MIS requirements, and quality improvement initiatives across its 6 elements.

- Lead related projects to improve quality and safety in maternity.

- Audit policies, protocols, and guidelines; ensure clinical risk management and clinical audit are integral to practice development.

- Develop and implement action plans for deficiencies; report progress regularly to the senior midwifery team.

- Act as a resource for staff on national/local guidance; maintain effective communication with multidisciplinary teams, LMNS, MNVP, and national networks.

- Engage service users via MNVP to inform improvement work.
