This is an exciting opportunity to enhance leadership skills in managing a fast paced surgical ward in Cheltenham General Hospital. The Senior Sister/Charge Nurse will role model high standards of nursing care and demonstrate transformational leadership. Visible leadership is essential on the ward for clinical supervision management and supporting patient flow of admissions and discharges to the ward.
Main duties of the job
Provide high quality patient care delivery maintaining standards in accordance with UK law, the NMC, and Trust guidelines, and able to meet the revalidation requirements.
To manage effectively the funded establishment of the Department through recruitment, retention and development of staff

Tivoli is a 21 bedded ward that receive elective and emergency urology admissions, elective gynaecology oncology patients and elective general surgery cases. The band 7 Senior Sister/Charge Nurse will be accountable and responsible for the 24 hour care delivery and management of the ward.
This will involve the line management of the nursing team to monitor sickness, appraisals and training compliance. The Senior Sister/Charge Nurse will lead the training and development of the nursing team to ensure clinical practice is developed and maintained and oversee the quality and safety of patient care that is being delivered.
