Job summary
Join a forward-thinking team shaping the future of frailty care in Gloucestershire. We're a supportive team of 13 Consultants, proud of the high-quality, patient-centred service we deliver across Care of the Elderly and Frailty. As our service expands, we're excited to welcome a new Consultant to help develop and deliver innovative, compassionate care.
Enjoy the flexibility of working on a ward or in the community, with the chance to develop a specialist interest in movement disorders, orthogeriatric medicine, peri-operative medicine, interface medicine, or community geriatrics.
Our Frailty Assessment Service sits at the heart of our care model, including a Direct Assessment Pathway, Frailty Assessment Unit, Frailty SDEC, and a developing Virtual Ward. You'll play a key role in shaping and improving these services as part of our dynamic team.
The post includes a fixed weekend post-take ward round and Frailty Assessment Service sessions (currently 1 in 8, reducing as the team grows). There are no on-call commitments, supporting a healthy work-life balance and weekend frequency will continue to decrease as the team expands.
Gloucestershire offers beautiful countryside, vibrant market towns, excellent schools and cultural festivals. It's an ideal place to grow your career and enjoy a fantastic quality of life. If you're a dedicated clinician who wants to make a real difference, we'd love to hear from you.

About us
Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust was formed in 2004, which was established following a reconfiguration of health services in Gloucestershire. We provide acute hospital services from two large district general hospitals, Gloucestershire Royal Hospital and Cheltenham General Hospital.

Our community is growing steadily, with an annual growth rate of 0.8% with 21% of the population aged 65 or older, and this figure is expected to increase by two-thirds by 2030, highlighting the growing demand for these services.
