Job summary
The Clinical Lead roles exist to assist the Specialty Director and Triumvirate in leading the strategic development and operational delivery of the specialty. The post holders will be responsible for leading the delivery of clinical services within the Trust's financial, workforce, operational targets and strategic objectives.
Main duties of the job
The post holders will be responsible for:- Ensuring the highest quality clinical service and achievement to include: Meeting national targets e.g. 2 week wait, 28 day, 62 day.- Clinical harm reviews- Developing 1, 3 and 5 year strategy plans with the Triumvirate Work force planning- Supporting the Governance/audit lead- Provide clinical input to our commissioners for pathway development, quality control and referral patterns- Interface with the Trust's procurement, audit and management departments- Support job planning process- Organise and attend business performance meetings for their Specialty- Acting as the service line representative when the Specialty Director is on leave or unavailable- Contributing to external reviews and Regulators

The Urology Team consists of 13 consultants, Registrars and junior doctors. We also have a team of Surgical Care Practitioners, Clinical Nurse Specialists and Nurse Practitioners supporting the care of patients within our service. We have in Cheltenham General Hospital Tivoli urology ward and a new outpatient urology clinic in Alstone run by our own nursing teams.
