This is an exciting opportunity for a Consultant Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon to join our department at Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. This is a full-time substantive post. We are a busy unit with strong collaborative working relationships with ENT, Oncology and Dermatology. This is a fantastic opportunity to help the delivery of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery service to patients of Gloucestershire and surrounding areas. This advertisement is for a consultant with an interest in Orthognathic Surgery.
The Oral & Maxillofacial department at Gloucester Royal Hospital is housed in a dedicated modern and well-equipped outpatient facility co- located close to theatres, a dedicated Head & Neck ward and on site maxillofacial laboratory.
Main duties of the job
Clinical responsibilities will include:- Undertaking outpatient clinics at both Gloucester and Cheltenham Hospitals with a main base at Gloucestershire Royal Hospital- Undertaking operating lists- To provide effective leadership to all staff engaged in the specialty- To sustain and develop teaching and research wherever appropriate- Having excellent team-working skills with the abilities and professional attitude to work well in a multi-professional team- To deliver clinical and quality targets agreed both nationally and locally with clinical teams and commissioners- To follow patients throughout their clinical pathways- To complete a 1 in 5 general on-call rota
