Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and experienced individual to join the PGME Simulation Team. You will have a crucial role in supporting Simulation Based Education for both Foundation Year 1, Foundation Year 2 and resident doctors, which plays a vital part in shaping the future of healthcare education and training.
The Foundation Simulation Tutor will have a knowledge base and enthusiasm for Simulation Based Education, strong leadership and collaboration skills to support delivery of high qulaity, equitably accessible simulation-based education and training at Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (GHNHSFT).
Main duties of the job
To promote, develop and oversee Simulation teaching to our Foundation Years, at Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Trust, delivering and meeting the Simulation requirement in the UK Foundation Programme Curriculum
Working collaboratively with the Simulation and Technology Enhanced Learning (TEL) Tutor
Working in Partnership with the Post-Graduate Medical Education Simulation Fellow in delivering the Simulation requirement in the UK Foundation Programme Curriculum.
To be predominately available on Tuesday afternoons, supporting Simulation within the Foundation Teaching Sessions, rostered for Tuesday afternoons in Redwood Education Centre, Gloucester Royal Hospital.

In the absence of the Foundation Programme Manager/Co-Ordinator, work autonomously in making decisions using judgement and discretion to ensure the continual smooth running and deliverance of Simulation Teaching within the Gloucestershire Foundation Teaching Programme.
The Senior Post-Holder will manage engagement with key stakeholders, and most especially engaging with the Simulation and TEL Tutor, to establish mechanisms for embedding standards, sharing best practice and simulation resources effectively.
This post is fixed term for 3-years.
The postholder will work with the Foundation Team and DME, to review and develop programmes of work to meet strategic deliverables and milestones, and to contribute to the PGME 5-year Strategy. strategic plans.
The postholder will be expected to be innovative and contribute to Medical Education Board (MEB) whilst also contributing to Simulation Business Cases supporting service change and development, including submitting funding applications for new equipment, and keep up-to-date with Simulation developments.
