Job summary

To support the educational needs of hospital based medical students from the Three Counties Medical School, based in Gloucestershire.

The Three Counties Medical School is newly formed medical school based in Worcester and established in 2023. The innovative course is open to postgraduate entrants and is based on Problem Based Learning with early clinical exposure. The students will be on 4 week block clinical placements in Gloucestershire Hospitals NHSFT between March and August 2025. This post is to help support the Three Counties Medical Students whilst on placement in the Trust.

This post is an ideal opportunity to add clinical teaching practice evidence to your CV and in particular become involved in innovative teaching practices such as Problem Based Learning. Ideal for those currently undertaking clinical locum work that would like to enhance their CV.

The role is for 1 WTE for 5 months - we will consider either one applicant or two applicants to share the role at 0.5 WTE each - please state clearly on your application which you would prefer.

Education; This post is not recognised by the Royal Colleges for General Professional Training nor by the Royal College of General Practitioners for Vocational Training.

Opportunities to become further involved in TCMS teaching and facilitation will be supported. Support may be available if the post-holder wishes to apply for applicable teaching qualifications.

This post offers the opportunity to be involved in the Medical Education of Medical Students from Three Counties Medical School (TCMS) whilst they are on clinical placement at GHNHSFT. The prime function of the post holder is as a facilitator delivering core content and providing bedside clinical teaching for medical students from Years 1 and 2 based on the Undergraduate Curriculum of Three Counties Medical School.
