Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Council with or working towards appropriate teaching/assessing qualification. Substantial post registration experience including appropriate experience within gynaecology

Post Graduate teaching certificate or willingness to work towards one
Enhanced IT skills.

To work within the policies and guidelines set out by the Trust and Nursing and Midwifery Council Code of Professional Conduct and Scope of Professional Practice.
To maintain contemporaneous and accurate treatment records, submitting relevant statistics, reports and activity data as requested.

Be a visible presence in clinical areas demonstrating exemplary standards of clinical care and education, promoting the implementation of evidence-based practice and inter-professional learning
Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of all learning interventions.
To administer medication and treatment within Procedure for the Ordering, Prescribing and Administration of Medication Guidelines.
Participate in mentorship and educational programmes for students and other members of the team.
Provide clinical area support and supervision for staff/learners undergoing specific training, or who have specific learning needs, assisting in the development of clinical competence
Be actively involved in ensuring that the environment is conducive to the learning and development of staff
Undertake clinical shifts and at least one clinical education shift each week

To support senior nurse in recruitment, retention and performance related issues, including being regularly responsible for the supervision and mentorship for unqualified/qualified staff and students.
Support senior nurse for clinical area in the management of budgetary control and resource management including duty rotas and skill mix requirements,
To support the senior nurse with Clinical Governance and risk management.
To input and retrieve patient and staff information from computer-based system and maintain accurate and contemporaneous patient records.
To provide clinical leadership that inspires and motivates others
To work with the Senior Charge Nurse ensuring that appropriate staff working in the ward environment have the knowledge and skills to provide expert care to the acutely ill patient.
To liaise with other members of the team to ensure policies and protocols are in place to facilitate expert care of acutely unwell patients.
The completion of daily audits and checks to help maintain and improve quality standards in line with local and national guidance
To be actively involved in the setting up and maintaining of educational programmes that ensure advanced knowledge and skills amongst the nursing team
Take personal responsibilities for life-long learning and personal development through clinical supervision, appraisal and knowledge and skills framework and actively engages with learning and development opportunities
The post holder will also be responsible for supporting the planning, co-ordination and delivery of nurse education and training to healthcare staff working within the gynaecology ward and assessment unit. This will include a variety of areas such as, Mandatory Training, Clinical Skills, Human Factors, Equipment Training, and support staff working in the clinical area for both new starters and existing staff.
Show enthusiasm to continue to learn the gynaecological specialism and to share knowledge with colleagues, students and patients
Identify the educational needs of staff with regard to gynaecology and participate in the planning, organisation and delivery of educational programs, to meet those needs
Supports the provision of cancer education and training for all grades and disciplines of staff, formally and informally in ward/work areas and assess the effectiveness of the teaching/learning process
Attend mandatory lectures and training as set out in the Trust guidelines, ensuring training is kept up to date
