Job summary
Working as part of our multi-award winning Divisional Analytics Team, our Divisional Information Managers are responsible for leading teams of BI Analysts in transforming the hospital activity data we hold into intelligence and insight to facilitate planning and delivery of our acute services.
Managers are responsible for overseeing a team of 3-5 analysts, setting out team directions, agreeing work plans, managing workloads and supporting them with completing analytical tasks. Analysis within the Analytics Team consists broadly of extracting data from our SQL Data Warehouse and analysing it in a combination of Microsoft Excel, SSRS, Tableau, or Data Science software to present it in the most professional and informative manner. Divisional Information Managers work closely with operational and clinical staff to understand what intelligence is required, and will complete analytical projects with their teams, and will present their work back to these stakeholders using the most appropriate platform.
Main duties of the job
Divisional Managers are responsible for the development, preparation and maintenance of high quality and timely information and analytical reports to support the Divisions in performance management, clinical and operational processes, business cases, and for statutory returns. This will involve ensuring a high level of analysis, interpretation, synthesis and presentation of information reports to ensure Managers are advised of any potential problem areas. Complex concepts and information to be presented in a clear and concise manner and where appropriate to recommend solutions.
To lead, together with the other BI Managers, the team's staff to ensure they are well motivated work effectively and achieve their personal and team objectives. This includes line management HR functions, recruitment functions and ensuring staff are developed and appraised each year.
Divisional Information Managers should be organised, enthusiastic and inquisitive, show excellent leadership skills, have good technical and statistical skills, and be passionate to make a real difference to how our hospitals are run.

It is an exciting time within the department with new developments including the introduction of Tableau, a new data warehouse, expansion of Population Health Management, and the continued implementation of a new EPR system. These developments will continue to make the team pivotal to the post-CoViD landscape in Gloucestershire.
