Senior Physiotherapist, Band 6 (30 hours a week)

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 6 Senior Physiotherapist within our integrated Trauma and Orthopaedic therapy team consisting of physiotherapists, occupational therapists and therapy support workers. We are looking for a dedicated, dynamic physiotherapist with experience, knowledge and skills in both trauma and orthopaedics to support the ongoing development of the therapy service in this specialist area.

This post will give you the opportunity to actively participant and help lead service delivery change, with exciting developments within orthopaedics. The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills, motivated to develop their own skills and that of the service, providing high quality and evidence-based therapy. We are looking for a dedicated, proactive, dynamic Physiotherapist to provide specialist knowledge and leadership experience whilst supporting flow and positive risk in a fast-paced environment.

As a Therapy Department we pride ourselves on developing staff with a dedicated Research and Development team providing CPD support to staff in all roles including to Masters levels and beyond.

This post will be cross site, covering both Cheltenham General Hospital and Gloucester Royal Hospital providing the exciting opportunity to work within both trauma and elective orthopaedics, therefore post holder must be flexible to meet the service needs.

Main duties of the job

- The post holder assumes responsibility for the day-to-day management of the clinical area, in the absence of the team leader.

- The post holder is supervised by a named therapist, who may not be present at all times. Clinical and professional supervision is in the form of regular clinical reasoning sessions, observed practice, peer review and formal training.

- The post holder will link with the Band 7 Clinical Lead Therapist to support the use of resources within budget. The level of managerial responsibility involves the supervision and appraisal of junior therapists, support workers and undergraduates, with the support of the Band 7.
