Receptionist, Band 2- Emergency Department (22.5 hours a week)

Are you enthusiastic, highly motivated and wanting to work for the NHS? If you are looking for a job where you will be kept busy and no day is the same, the Receptionist role could be for you.

This specific job role entails working nights, 22.5 hours week on a set shift pattern (11pm - 7am) which will include working unsocial hours, weekends and Bank Holidays. Unsocial hours worked attract an enhanced rate of pay. You must be able to have a flexible approach and be able to work extra shifts to ensure Reception has optimum Reception cover.

You will be part of a friendly team of approximately 25 Receptionists working in a busy Emergency Department working with a wider multi-disciplinary team. You will be working in a fast paced/ever changing environment.

Main duties of the job

To provide a comprehensive and efficient Reception service within the Emergency Department.

Register/book in patients, update patient records, make referrals to other departments, using the Trust's IT system.

Scanning of patient documentation.

Answer telephone enquiries.

Deal with enquiries at Reception that are not necessarily ED related.
