Job summary

This is an exciting and varied position in the brain injury therapy team of the Brain Injury Service in Gloucestershire. The post is band 3 (32.5 hours) Monday to Thursday but includes a requirement to work 3.75 hours on a Saturday every 2nd week. This is shared with another post (i.e. by working alternate Saturday half day and alternate half day on a Tuesday).22.5 hours are permanently funded and will be based at a care centre in Cheltenham ; We also require the post holder to work an additional 10 hours a week based with the Brain Injury Team at Gloucestershire Hospitals Trust on a temporary basis for 18 months in the first instance.

For an informal chat please contact Dave Bowen (David.Bowen1@nhs.net) 0300 4225138.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will use the principles of Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Psychology and Speech and Language Therapy in an integrated and client-centred way, to promote independence and facilitate safe discharge.

This will be achieved by implementing delegated treatment plans and facilitating rehabilitation within agreed limitations through exercise, physical modalities and the use of occupation.

The post holder will assess and manage delegated patients with non-complex mobility and occupational difficulties, reporting back to the registered practitioner as necessary.

About us

The wider Brain Injury Team is a multidisciplinary team comprising of Physiotherapists, Speech and Language Therapists, Occupational Therapists, Psychologists, Therapy Technicians delivering services to adults with brain injury - in hospital and in the community.
