Job summary
Macmillan Information and Support Hub Assistant, Band 3 (21 hours a week)
Work with the Macmillan Hub Manager and Cancer Services to provide information, support and signposting to patients and those close to them who are affected by cancer.
This role will be working in the Hub supporting and signposting patients and being a point of contact at all parts of the patients caner pathway.
Very occasional need to work evening or weekends

Main duties of the job
- Work with the Macmillan Hub Manager to ensure provision of information, support and signposting meets the needs of people living with cancer and those close to them.
-Support the volunteer workforce in the absence of the Hub Manager.
- Manage the day to day operation in the absence of the Hub Manager.
-Role requires post holder to be on site for the core working hours with the occasional need to work out of hours and at weekends to support community cancer awareness events.

The Macmillan Informational and Support Hub is a drop in service that supports patients and those affected by cancer. We are a small friendly team made up of staff and volunteers. We work closely with the clinical teams, local support service and the voluntary sector to ensure that patients and those affected by cancer are well served.
