Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Governance and Risk Lead to join our theatres within Gloucestershire NHS foundation trust. Working across three sites. Gloucester, Cheltenham and Cirencester.

You will be responsible for the delivery of robust governance, risk and patient safety processes across the theatre teams ensuring consistency, effectiveness and compliance with Trust and national policies and reporting procedures.

You will lead the way in developing the service culture of being open and embedding learning within everyday practice.Do you want to work alongside an experienced group of Team Leaders across our theatres?We are committed to improving our retention of existing colleagues but also attracting new staff into the department - you could be the key to having an impact on our success!We are also committed to improving our Risk and Governance management within theatres and the wider MDT that impacts on the theatres service line.

Both Clinincal and non-clinical individuals will be considered for this 9 month secondment

Main duties of the job

Providing visible, accessible and authoritative leadership to staff and acting as an expert role model to ensure the excellence and effectiveness of all clinical/surgical practice while maintaining a clinical presence within the theatres as required

To create and support a safe environment which facilitates innovative approaches to patient care and nursing practice in order to improve the quality of care given.

To inspire, motivate and empower others to ensure highly specialised competence and standards are developed and maintained within Risk and Goverance.

To take direct managerial responsibility for the clinical area in the absence of or as delegated by the Matrons or Deputy Matrons across all sites.
